JSHS Students Selected as 2019 US Presidential Scholars

Congratulations to both Katelynne Berland of the Virginia JSHS and Edwin Bodoni of the Wyoming-Eastern Colorado JSHS for being named 2019 U.S. Presidential Scholars. These students were nominated by JSHS for this distinction. Through the U.S Department of Education, this prestigious award is allotted to one male and female high school senior from each state, who have demonstrated exceptional community service, academic achievement, and leadership.  Katelynne and Edwin both participated in this years 57th National Junior Science and Humanities Symposium. Katelynne presented her research entitled, “Knockdown of Alpha-synuclein Prevents Tau Toxicity” and Edwin presented his research, “Bruxism: A Novel Diagnostic Approach – Part II.” Both students will be invited to a ceremony at the White House on June 23, where they will receive the Presidential Scholar Medallion. Congratulations!!
